the Frosts for Christmas

Christmas is exactly a month away. I haven't got any present shopping done yet.. None.. whatsoever.... Except for a couple of people that tells me exactly what they want, I haven't got a clue what to buy either. But at least I can give you all these.

Meet..... the Frost Family (as Monica calls them)

the Frosts, on the cupcakes

So if you're like me and haven't got any shopping done yet, maybe the Frost family can help you.

There's only a limited number of sets I can do, so please email me quick if you're interested on cleony.jusuf@gmail.com

If the Frosts don't take your fancy, maybe a simple tree is more suitable. Either way, drop me a line (or two) (^_^)

ginger cupcakes

a variation to the gingerbread, this Ginger Cupcakes is a light alternative.

With chopped glace ginger pieces in the batter, they give an interesting texture to the cake. Topped with cream cheese frosting with a dash of lemon, it's the perfect cupcake for Christmas

a cloud of fluff

A trial for a wedding cake. Definitely time consuming, but definitely pretty.
Hundreds of white organza flowers were hand made individually, and the final results reminds me of a floating ballerina's tutu.

Simple triple dot patterns adorned the top layer, along with a simple band of green ribbon, mimicking the green from the single rose that sits on top.

When the time comes, a single fresh rose will replace the fabric rose it currently has.

the wedding of the year!!!

John & Jennifer tied the knot last Sunday @ the sydney harbour marriot. I am so grateful that they trusted me with their wedding cake.

Jen's one of the most laid back bride I've ever met, it is such a pleasure to make things for her, I hope I have given her what she hoped for.

So, after a couple of meetings with Jen & John, they decided on having tiers of cupcakes. And they also decided on bite size cupcakes (minis) so that it doesn't overwhelmed the guests after a full 3 course meal.

I gave them a box of cupcakes sampler during one of our meetings, and they decided on the red velvet & the caramel fleur de sel cupcakes.

In keeping with their colour scheme, the cupcakes were adorned with little purple & white flowers as well as a pale purple butterflies made out of chocolate.

The topper cake is a rich chocolate mudcake. & a big thank you to JJ from Buds & Bowers for the beautiful flowers.

I was priviledge to be one of their guest, and what a night it was!!! John, always the party king sure knows how to make a speech, and everyone took part in the games.

Thank you Jen & John for inviting me, and I wish you both all the best for your life together!!!

*cheers!!!!!!!!

des "cupcakes" inspirés par la france

french inspired cupcakes

For a birthday in a french restaurant, for someone who just got back from France, K asked for a french themed cake. I gave it a thought, an opera? a mousse cake? Nah... what about cupcakes with french themed decoration?

So, these 20 cupcakes were decorated with a few 'french' things...
baguettes, croissants, macarons, the 'ispahan', fleur de lis, the lavenders of provence, the eiffel towers & of course, the french flag.

all of the decorations are hand made and the paintings, hand painted.

And in keeping with the theme, flavours of the cupcakes are:
  • caramel fleur de sel cupcakes
  • lavender & honey cupcakes

Bonne Anniversaire Camille!!!!!

super mario cupcakes

This order came with another box of cupcakes & chocolate profiteroles. The birthday boy like games, so I thought "who doesnt know Mario, and who doesnt like Mario?"

Luckily, they agreed to the Mario :)
I made the Mario a couple of days prior and showed it to her for approval, and once she gives the okay, the cupcakes follow.

here's another look at Mario..

Happy Birthday Rendi from i eat sweet...!!!!! \(^_^)/

lavender & honey cupcakes

They are just perfect.

A feast to the eye & the tastebud. Bursts of lavender hits your tastebuds as you put each bite-ful to your mouth. It is never overwhelming. The honey from the buttercream offers sweet companionship to the cake.

This sweet smell-ing cupcakes aren't only pretty in colour (lavender!!!!), they also taste really nice. The whiteness of the honey buttercream is a subtle contrast to the lavender coloured cake.

tofus for Jas

For those of you who often go to the Capitol Square 'space catcher' game place, you might be familiar with the characters on these cupcakes.

Yes, it's the group of 6 tofus that were all the rage a few months back (i think there's still some variation available now)

Well... Jas is a fan (i think anyway) so tofus it is for Miss Tang's 20th!!

And when asked what kind of cupcakes she wanted, she said "Chocolate!!!!"
So... a selection of chocolate cupcakes it is then!!
  • sinful dark chocolate cupcakes
  • nutella cupcakes
  • hi-hat cupcakes

hope you like them.

tiramisu - 'gateaux'

So this is another way you can present your tiramisu. Gateaux form!!!

The layer of savoiardi on the side and bottom helps it hold its form, making it easier to cut and divide to serve.

here's some other idea on how to serve tiramisu:

A stand-ful of cupcakes

It was Nova's birthday at her favourite restaurant, Cedars Valley in Randwick.

A mix of cupcakes (caramel fleur de sel, strawberry, sinful dark chocolate & nutella) help closed the night, with all the guest & with Samia & John the chef.

Happy Birthday Cie!!!

peek from last week

A few cupcakes order last week.. here's a peek..

Vibri's order for her flatmate Yenny...
21 cupcakes for her 21st Birthday. It's set on a little step stand to elevate the back rows :)

and in addition, she also order some extra nutella & caramel fleur de sel.

And this is Jane's order for her friend Claire and some more for her last day at work :)

and

And last but definitely not least..... Kim's order. Kim knows the cupcakes through her daughter Vanessa who happens to be my sister's friend in school. And since Cella sometimes bring some cupcakes when I overbake (or when I'm in a trial mood), i guess that's where it all started :)

So there's some oreo cupcakes & green tea macaron's for a birthday celebration!!

:)
more later this week!!
